AWBW Replay player was created to supliment the default replay player for Advance Wars By Web which is website which allows players to play against each other using a recreation of Nintendo’s Advance Wars.

AWBW’s default replay player is known to have a number of issues. The two main issues with the online replay player, was stability and longevity.

The main aim of the Replay Player, was to fix these issues as well as implement other features, including:

  • Improved Performance of loading.
  • Custom animations to help actions pop out.
  • Options to help Colourblind players.
  • And other features.

Development Information

Team Size: Solo.

Development Period: January 2022 - March 2022. Still providing ongoing support.

Engine: osu-framework. (Built with C#/.Net 6)

Main Responsibilities:

  • Parsing and interpreting custom formatted files.
  • Recreation of game features.
  • Handling the importation of unknown files.
  • Creation of tests to ensure features didn’t fail.
  • The additional of features to help usability, particular for colour blind players.
  • And other tasks.
